The Aje Pre Fall 21 collection titled ‘Equilibrium’ is all about finding balance, harmony, the yin and yang. How do you harness your own equilibrium?
Living in a busy city like Lisbon it’s not always easy to find your own equilibrium, but remaining a positive person helps me to find inner peace even in the most challenging of days. I love to cook and listen to music; this for me is the best combination to get away from my hectic routine and ensure I stay relaxed.
Do you have a place of solitude, or rituals to recharge from city living?
I am naturally a very social person who loves to hang out with people and socialize. It's not very often that I am looking for a place of solitude, but it feels great to get away from the city for the weekend together with friends. We do that quite frequently and it’s always good to be in contact with nature, even if it’s only for a few days.
How does Portugal’s energy inspire you?
Portugal is definitely the best place to be, I love the food and the culture, I truly enjoy the dynamic of the city and how unpredictable it is to make plans. We have one of the best climate conditions in Europe and really good vibes.
Tell us about your love for interior design and your ways of sourcing pieces – what are your tips?
My passion for interior design started at a very early stage, I’ve always wanted to be an interior designer, and originally started studying architecture, however after two years changed to design. When I finished my degree and was looking for my first job, Instagram appeared in my life and I completely pivoted to the fashion scene which is my other big passion. I’m always sourcing interior pieces from online sites to the most typical vintage stores in my neighbourhood.

Do you feel there is a quiet power or escape in curating a colourful, fearless wardrobe?
I believe the way we dress reflects the way we feel. Like I said before, I’m a very positive person and I’m always super happy, meaning you will usually see me wearing a lot of colours and patterns. A good outfit can make your life easier on so many levels; it all depends on what you are looking for.
Why do you feel social media to be an important avenue to express your creativity in a purposeful way?
Social media nowadays plays a huge role in the way we express ourselves, for the good and the bad, but it’s an amazing tool to promote yourself and have the opportunity to work with your favourite brands and make a living out of it. Creativity comes in different forms and feelings, I just try to promote what I feel and believe.

What projects are you currently working on?
At the moment I am working as a fashion stylist and content creator, but hopefully I will start a new project very soon.
As we are all seeking some form of escapism, in what ways do you think fashion has returned or transformed in the past year?
I think we are all still trying to figure out where we stand, the fashion world had to be even more creative this past year, coming up with ideas to bring people together through online platforms as well as keeping up with all different restrictions around the world. It was a very challenging year, where the brands had to focus more on the customers needs and in the last year the greatest need was undoubtedly loungewear and comfortable, yet practical clothing.

Is there a fashion era in history that you resonate with most?
Yes, at the moment I am really into the 70’s vibe! I love the mixture of patterns and the strong colours.
What is something in the future, you feel most excited about?
To create my own project.
