How are you staying connected this Mother’s day this year, given the current circumstances in the world?

Penny - If I can’t see my Mum I'll be sending flowers and a yummy cake from her favourite bakery Flour & Stone.

What has been the best lesson Mum has offered to you?

Ruby - To be empathetic and loving always, to smile, and to never take life too seriously.

What teaching can you impart, based on your experiences as a mother?

Penny - You have to roll with the punches and be able to adapt….quickly ! I tried to be as spontaneous as possible, keep things fun and not get too bogged down in the boring routine. Keeping a sense of humour is crucial. I would say teaching them to be kind was very important to me.

What makes the word ‘mum’ so special?

Ruby - The word mum represents family. I’m part of a large family, when I hear the word mum I think of my brothers and sister and how we all share the same mum.

Tell us your most memorable fashion moment — from your mother or grandmother?

Ruby - My mum has taught me to love a pantsuit or jumpsuit, she always looks so chic and cool. You will rarely catch her in a pretty dress but always catch her in a pair of cool pants. I used to be quite feminine with my style, however now I hardly own any dresses or skirts…maybe she’s rubbing off on me!

Penny - I remember my Mum drove us to school in a fur coat with nothing on underneath! It was the 70s I guess.
